Mike McLeary, DDS
I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to change a patient’s smile and life as soon as they walk through the doors of our practice. This is why I’m so passionate about being a dentist; interacting with our patients, helping them to achieve the best and brightest smile possible, and creating life-long friendships along the way. I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 25 years and love that I get to treat so many diverse and unique people from all ages and backgrounds; everyone has a story to tell!

I was born in Florence, Alabama and my family moved to Sheffield when I was 5 years old. I attended Sheffield city schools and graduated from Sheffield High School in 1983. I then attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. After working for 5 years in this field I decided to apply for Dental School to fulfill my original goal of becoming a dentist. This was inspired by my childhood dentist who greatly improved my oral health and drastically changed my smile when I was 17 years old. I started dental school at the University of Tennessee - Memphis College of Dentistry in 1993 and earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1997. I returned to Florence and began practicing that same year.
When not practicing dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my wife Renaè traveling and being at our home in Florence. I have 3 grown children: Matthew, Kaley (Ryan)and Cory (Erica) as well as a bonus son Walker Underwood. I also have 3 granddaughters, Lyla, Max, & Ella. I also currently serve in the Alabama Army National Guard (37 years of service) as a dental officer at the rank of Colonel. I have been deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom for 3 tours and still enjoy serving today.
